A medium has opened up about what spirits look like and how she sees them, describing them as 'blips' and 'disturbances' that hover around living humans.

Amie Balesky, 33, from Texas, claims that she has been able to communicate with the dead since 1995. She has 2.7 followers on TikTok, where she answers questions about the afterlife and shares footage from her sessions with clients.

'Everybody always has almost like this radiation around them. It's like a static. That's what I like to call your aura, your electromagnetic field,' the founder of The Balesky Experience explained in a recent video.

'Then you have these other like blips that are around you. That's what spirit is —almost like positive or negative disturbances. If you can tap into those spirits, that's what channeling is.'

Balesky noted that she has learned over the years how to differentiate spirits based on what she sees.

'I see them in my mind's eye. I've learned what male or female looks like. I have learned what mother, father, child, or relationship looks like,' she said.

'I've learned what the different colors mean, not just on your aura but how they present themselves. I've learned how spirit feels if they're really concerned about what you're going through or if you're just worried about it and they know you're going to be okay.'

'After that first near-death experience, I would have things like premonitions, and I actually started channeling for people inside my high school,' she explained. 'And, of course, I became obsessed with super haunted locations.'

'I had three more near-death experiences — yes, the light is a real thing — and my gifts went insane. When I divorced my ex and was back on track, my gifts went nuts even more. My clients grew. My experiences grew. The connection to spirit I had grew, grew, grew.'

Earlier this month, Balesky gave an example of how spirits are 'always watching,' explaining that she just had a 'very intriguing session with a woman whose husband passed tragically about 10 years ago.'

'She asked me, "How do I know that he's around?"' she said, noting that she likes to ask spirits questions about their surroundings when she is channeling them.

According to Balesky, the woman's husband didn't show her anything, but he did make her hear a Garth Brooks song.

'Your husband doesn't seem like a country type of person, but he's singing a Garth Brooks song,' she told the woman.

'She goes, "Wait, what did you just say?"' she recalled. 'I said, "It's a song by Garth Brooks. She said, "Amie, I kid you not. ... We live in an island community and today Garth Brooks and his wife became my neighbors. They are redoing the house across the street. I got to meet them today."'

In the caption, Balesky said she got 'goosebumps' when she found out the singer was her client's new neighbor — a sign that her late husband was with her.
