Juno Temple played a 'wolf in sheep's clothing' while Jon Hamm portrayed a sheriff with nipple rings in a trailer released on Wednesday for the fifth season of Fargo.

The trailer for the upcoming season of the FX show opened a pair of officers telling Wayne Lyon [David Rysdahl], 'Well, sir, there's no easy way to say this, your wife isn't who she says she is.'

They were referring to Dorothy 'Dot' Lyon, played by 34-year-old English actress Juno, who was shown in the next clip wielding a baseball bat spiked with nails.

Deputy Indira Olmstead [Richa Moorjani] investigated a crime scene and offered her analysis.

'Let me tell you what I see. I see a woman who outsmarted two kidnappers,' she said.

Sheriff Roy Tillman, played by 52-year-old Jon, was shown soaking in an outdoors hot tub with nipple rings showing.

'There is no one on God's green Earth who's a greater enforcer of the laws than Roy Tillman,' the sheriff said.

A giant billboard was shown for his re-election campaign and he shared a stage at a political event.

Wayne was shown seeking help for Dot from his mother Lorraine Lyon played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, 61.

'She's a wolf in sheep's clothing, that one,' Lorraine said.

Season five focuses on Roy searching for Dot with the help of his feckless son Gator [Joe Keery] and shadowy drifter Ole Munch [Sam Spruell].

Dave Foley, Lamorne Morris, Jessica Pohly and Nick Gomez also star in the series.

Season five is set in North Dakota and Minnesota in 2019.

Noah Hawley, 56, returns as the writer, director and showrunner of the anthology series.

Prior seasons of Fargo have starred Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Chris Rock, Billy Bob Thornton, Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Fargo is inspired by the 1996 Coen brothers film of the same name and takes place within the same fictional universe.

The series premiered in April 2014 on FX and follows an anthology format.

Season five of Fargo will premiere on November 21 on FX with two episodes.
