Abigail Eden was born to Roy Eden (Fater) and Smadar Eden (Mother). President Joe Biden confirmed on 26 November 2023 that Abigail Eden was held hostage by Hamasa after her parents were killed. She was released as part of the cease-fire deal in the Israel-Hamas war. She was released safely in Israel.

Joe Biden told reporters

“Thank God she’s home. I wish I were there to hold her.”

Abigail Eden was the first American hostage to be released under the terms of the cease-fire.
